In 2009 Global Explorer (GE) was established to provide services in the field of subsea engineering. GE operates as a contractor in the Submarine Cable installation, repair and maintenance market on a worldwide basis.

GE’s senior management has a strong history of being active in coastal and inshore marine and civil construction operations since 1999 and operates vessels on a charter basis together with a comprehensive array of marine construction equipment.

As a submarine cable engineering and installation contractor, GE presently specializes in the following main activities and services connected with the installation and trenching of power, telecommunications cables and umbilicals.

The above services are provided to either the cable network owners or main contractors, cable manufacturers, offshore oil and gas operators, power supply corporations and other parties involved in the transmission and distribution of telecommunications or power transmission via submarine cables.

Individual items of activity can be carried out independently of the others on a stand alone basis or as part of a complete submarine cable installation, from conception through subsea lay and burial to completion, or can be conducted as a turnkey operation.

Besides GE’s core activity in the installation of power and telecommunication cables in shallow water and difficult terrains, GE also provides services to the offshore oil and gas industry in the installation of umbilical with techniques and equipment specially adapted or manufactured to suit the specific needs of the field development or installation project.
